How Dual Wielding Works

When you attack with your main-hand weapon (Action), you can make an off-hand attack with your Bonus Action. Without the Two-Weapon Fighting style, you don’t add your ability modifier to off-hand damage.

Best Classes for Dual Wielding

Class	Why
Thief Rogue	Extra Bonus Action = 2 off-hand attacks per turn. Best dual wielder.
Swords Bard	Two-Weapon Fighting style + Slashing Flourish. 2 main + 2 off-hand attacks.
Fighter	Fighting Style + Action Surge + Extra Attack × 2 at level 11.
Ranger	Fighting Style + Hunter’s Mark (1d6 per hit).

2: Cunning Action
3: Thief. Fast Hands (extra Bonus Action).

Bonus Action 1: Off-hand attack
Action: Main-hand attack (Sneak Attack if conditions met)
Bonus Action 2: Second off-hand attack
