DEX 17 = attacks/AC. WIS 16 = spells + initiative (Dread Ambusher).

Level Progression

• 1: Favored Enemy: Bounty Hunter (ensnaring strike). Natural Explorer.
• 2: Fighting Style: Archery (+2 ranged attack). Spellcasting.
• 3: Gloom Stalker. Dread Ambusher (+3 initiative, extra attack on first turn with +1d8 damage). Umbral Sight (invisible to darkvision enemies).
• 4: Feat: Sharpshooter
• 5: Extra Attack. Level 2 spells.
• 8: Feat: +2 DEX
• 12: Feat: Alert (+5 more initiative = you always go first)

First Turn Burst

1. Dread Ambusher bonus attack + Extra Attack = 3 attacks on turn 1
2. Hunter’s Mark (Bonus Action) adds 1d6 per hit
3. Sharpshooter toggled ON (+10 damage per hit, -5 accuracy. Archery + high ground offset the penalty)
4. Total at level 5: 3 × (1d8+15) + 1d8 Dread + 3d6 Mark ≈ 60-80 damage before enemies move

Key Spells

• 1: Hunter’s Mark (always), Longstrider (ritual)
• 2: Pass Without Trace (+10 Stealth to whole party), Spike Growth (zone control)
• 3: Conjure Barrage (AoE)

Best Gear

• Ranged: Titanstring Bow (Act 1) → Gontr Mael (Act 3)
• Melee backup: dual shortswords or daggers
• Armor: Medium (Yuan-Ti Scale Mail in Act 2)
